Cryptodifflugia valida  Playfair, 1917

Diagnosis: Shell large, ovoid, circular in transverse section; lateral sides gradually converging toward the aperture. Aperture circular and rather broad, with a well‑developed thickening around it.

Dimensions: Shell length 55 μm; shell width 40 μm; aperture diameter 15 μm.

Ecology: Freshwater ponds and bogs.

Distribution: Australia; Chile.
