Cryptodifflugia sp. (Lolo Pass, Montana–Idaho, USA)
Material: Specimens collected from a small lake near Lolo Pass (Montana–Idaho border, USA). The species multiplied readily in wet chamber mounts, allowing repeated observations of living individuals.
Cryptodifflugia spec. 16.5 and 15.5 µm, mouth 2.78 µm
In older wet chamber preparations a large number of these coupled shells appeared, one empty, the other with a cell, maybe encysted.
