Diagnosis: Shell narrowly ovoid; lateral sides gradually converging toward the aperture. Shell circular in transverse section, with rare small xenosomes; colorless, becoming brownish in older specimens; transparent. Aperture circular.
Dimensions:
Golemansky (1970): shell length 24–27 μm; width 13–17 μm; aperture diameter 5–6 μm.
Own measurements: length 29–34 μm; aperture diameter 4.6–6.9 μm.
Ecology: Freshwater; oligotrophic lakes; Sphagnum.
Distribution: Germany; Russia; Belgium; Romania.
