Difflugia symoensi  Chardez, 1964

Diagnosis: Shell bag-shaped, with pseudostome almost as wide as the width of the test; fundus rounded. Pseudostome large and straight, with a neat border of large grains. Most characteristic is a kind of necklace of larger quartz pieces just above the border. Rest of the test is covered with smaller mineral pieces, flat and polymorph, mixed with diatoms or algae.

Dimensions: Chardez (1964): Shell length 120-130 µm, width 100-110 µm, pseudostome 80-90 um.

Ecology: Freshwater, Lake Bangweolo, Africa.
