
Galeripora polypora (Penard, 1890) González-Miguéns et al., 2021
Basionym: Arcella polypora Penard, 1890
Diagnosis: Shell discoid, perfectly round, very strongly compressed, with very clear alveolar patterns, with the ventral side pushed inwards, with a very large aperture (1/3 of the diameter of the shell), surrounded by very small and extremely numerous pores. Nuclei 8 to 10, rarely more, with central nucleolus.
Dimensions: Shell diameter 80-120 µm on average, often more (Penard, 1902)
Habitat: Freshwater.
