Amphitrema paparoensis  Van Oye, 1956

Diagnosis: Shell hyaline, faintly brownish, with a quite distinct neck. In dorsal view, the lateral sides are almost parallel. Mineral grains numerous, but scattered on the surface of the test. Shell wall thick, chitinous, homogenous.

Dimensions: According to Van Oye (1956): Shell length 92 µm; width 70 µm; aperture 10 µm (n=1).

Ecology: Freshwater, Sphagnum.

Geographical distribution: New-Zealand.

Remarks: Van Oye (1958) considered the mineral grains around the apertures as characteristic.
