Archerella jollyi (Van Oye, 1956) proposal comb. nov.
Basionym: Amphitrema jollyi Van Oye, 1956
Diagnosis: This species differs from A. flavum in several characters, and in the first place by its dimensions. The section of the test is broader at the middle, where it measures about 30 µm, as against about 20 µm at the tips. There are no xenosomes and the chitinous test is hyaline and colorless.
Dimensions: According to Van Oye (1956): Shell length 86-100 µm; width 60-71 µm; L/W ratio 1.32 to 1.63, averaging 1.48.
Ecology: Freshwater, Sphagnum.
Geographical distribution: New-Zealand.
