Difflugia linearis (Penard, 1890) Gauthier-Lièvre & Thomas, 1958

Diagnosis: Shell bottle-shaped or elongated. The neck is long, narrow with parallel sides, the test slightly expands to the fundus. The surface is usually covered with flattened mineral grains, cusps of diatoms and flagellate cysts. The pseudostome is round.

Dimensions: Penard (1890): Shell length 96-108 µm, width 32-38 µm, diameter pseudostome 12-13 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater. Sphagnum.
