Difflugia septentrionalis Awerintzew, 1906

Diagnosis: Shell elongated, pterygoid, with a distinct neck, sharply turning into a fundus, covered with diatomas. Pseudostome round, surrounded by a lip of organic matter.

Dimensions: Awerintzew (1906): Shell length 140-158 µm; width 66-79 µm; diameter pseudostome 20-23 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater. Sphagnum.
