Difflugia ventricosa Deflandre, 1926

Diagnosis: Shell thin elongated, slightly expanding from the pseudostome to the base of the fundus, but then abruptly turning into a sharp spike. Constructed from different sizes of sand grains, diatom frustules, flagellates cysts. The surface is uneven. The pseudostome is rounded, surrounded by small mineral grains.

Dimensions: Deflandre (1926): Shell length 160–200 µm; width 55–70 µm; diameter pseudostome 25–31 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater.
