Difflugia sarissa Tai, 1931

Diagnosis: Shell lanceolate, oblong, cylindrical, nearly twice as long as broad. Fundus bluntly pointed. Sides convex, sloping evenly downwards from the fundus and swelling gradually to the greatest diameter at the portion about one-third from the truncated aperture. Aperture about 2/5 of the diameter of the test, surrounded by a ring of small mineral grains.

Dimensions: Tai (1931): Shell length 155 µm; width 83 µm. Other observers mention 120-160 µm, but it is doubtful if they have really seen this species, because their drawings don’t show the widest region at 1/3 from the mouth, but halfway (Chardez,1963, 1966; Gauthier-Lièvre & Thomas, 1958).
