Junior synonym of Difflugia acuminata Ehrenberg, 1930

Diagnosis: Shell elongate pyriform, acuminate, with a spine of variable size and blunt or sharp. Shell covered with al kind of xenosomes. Aperture circular. Shell resembles those of D. acuminate and D. ventricosa, but much larger.

Dimensions. Gauthier-Lièvre and Thomas (1958): Shell length 300-350 µm, width 115-150, pseudostome 48-80 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater. Congo, Africa.
