Euglypha symoensi Van Oye, 1958
Diagnosis: Shell more or less flattened, especially at the anterior part; with a curved mouth bordered by smooth or very slightly serrated scales, but never showing distinct teeth.
Dimensions: Van Oye (1958): Shell length 118 µm; width 65 µm; thickness 34 µm; L/W ratio 1.81.
Ecology: Fresh water, marshes.
Geographical distribution: First found in Congo, 1948, at 3,000 m asl.
Remarks: Van Oye: “This new species is distinguished at first sight by its curved mouth. The dimensions exceed those of all Euglypha species except E. compressa. The scales bordering the mouth have no teeth, they are more or less smooth at most slightly serrated.
