Centropyxis adami  Laminger, 1971

Diagnosis: In ventral view, the outline of the shell is more or less elliptical, in side view, the fundus part is spherically arched. The eccentric pseudostome is located at the front end of the shell. Its outline is formed by two convex arcs. The visor is clearly separated from the fundus. On the side, the attachment points of the visor extend beyond the upper pseudostome arch, as in Trinema penardi, and thus cause the similarity with this species. The base of the shell bears 2-6 spines, different in lengths. The cemented mass of the shell is almost completely covered with tiny mineral plates, only the visor has a somewhat coarser covering of small stones.

Dimensions: Length 147-192 µm; width 98-117 µm; pseudostome 62-65 µm; length of processes 10-39 µm; L/W 1.50-1.64.

Habitat: Freshwater, sediment of the Vorderer Finstertaler See, Austria.
