Centropyxis obscurus Chardez, 1990
Diagnosis: Shell circular, strongly compressed: ventral side flat, dorsal side convex, slightly higher in the part opposite to the pseudostome. Shell opaque, composed of granular organic material, with a kind of regular punctuation and embedded with a few small xenosomes. The test surface is sometimes garnished with more abundant mineral particles especially in the posterior region. Pseudostome relatively small and a little eccentric, more or less circular, little invaginated, without internal bridges, but always bordered by a darker thickening.
Dimensions: Shell diameter: 72-79 µm, height: 20-29 µm, aperture 12-16 µm (n=15).
Ecology: dry mosses, Europe.
