Centropyxis bryophilus  Dekhtiar, 1998
= Centropyxis spinosa (Cash, 1905) Deflandre, 1929

Diagnosis: Shell oval, always slightly elongated in the direction of the apical axis; in lateral view, the shell is pear-shaped. Aperture round, small, located almost centrally or slightly eccentrically. Spines long and curved, equipped with plugs at the top. Peri-apertural region clearly distinguished from the basal-dorsal part, being smooth and having a uniform structure, while the dorsal part bears mineral particles, the largest sand grains located between the spines. The invaginated pseudostome is deeply curved into the shell, but without outgrowths (bridges) connected to the dorsal wall.

Dimensions: Length 102—112 µm, width 92—105 µm, aperture 26—32 µm.

Ecology: Sphagnum and wet mosses. Ukraine.

Remarks: This species is identical to C. spinosa.
