Centropyxis chardezi Stepanek, 1963
Diagnosis: In dorsal view the shell is oval and elongated and tapering towards the fundus into a dull horn. Viewed from the side, the shell is pear-drop shaped, with the “stalk” forming a horn on the back. The aperture is lobed and cruciform. The ligaments of the aperture are slightly sunken inwards. The surface is rarely covered with irregular gray mineral chips. Shell brown, the horny prominence is hollow.
Dimensions: Length 76 µm; width 50 µm; height 45 µm; aperture 35 µm.
Habitat: Freshwater, Congo, Africa.
