Centropyxis decloitrella Laminger, 1973
Diagnosis: In ventral view the shell appears oval and is somewhat reminiscent of C. (aculeata) oblonga. The relatively large pseudostome is eccentric and broadly elliptical, almost circular. The fundus has a variable number of spines of different lengths. At the upper end of the shell there is a spine on each flank at the level of the upper edge of the pseudostome. These two spines never reach the maximum length of those of the lower shell region and are almost always directed upwards. In lateral view, similarly arched as C. (aculeata) oblonga. Shell covering consists of more or less large mineral particles, which often reach a considerable size at the edge of the pseudostome.
Dimensions: Length 81 µm, width 71 µm, pseudostome 35 µm.
Habitat: Freshwater, stream mosses. Costa Rica.
