Centropyxis dentistoma (Decloitre, 1949)
Basionym: Centropyxis aculeata var. dentistoma Decloitre, 1949
Diagnosis: Aperture lobed, which bears 4 to 6, sometimes 7, sharp, strongly chitinized teeth, as well as the edge of the aperture, which is darker than the rest of the test and sometimes presents a double outline due to a true chitinous ridge that defines it. The shell sometimes carries diatoms, is brown, but the horns are completely clear and transparent; it is lower in height than in the type.
Dimensions: According to Decloitre (1949): Shell diameter (without spines) 130—140 um; height 28—30 µm; pseudostome 50 µm; buccal depth 10 um; spines 20—44 µm.
Habitat: Freshwater.
Geographical distribution: Central Africa.
Remarks: This variety is probably identical to C. spinosa.
