Centropyxis latideflandriana  Bonnet, 1979

Diagnosis: Shell pear-shaped, in cross-section slightly elliptical. Visor extremely small, almost vestigial in some individuals, with kidney-shaped opening. Elliptical pseudostome between belly and visor. Shell wall yellowish to light brown, with half-siliceous, half-organic covering. Shell often irregular and bumpy. Visor more transparent than the test, almost entirely “chitinoid” and with a very thin edge.

Dimensions: Shell ± 80.5 µm long (SD 11.5), width ± 54.8 µm (SD 9.4) (n=47).

Habitat: Soil.

Geographical distribution: Kerguelen Islands, New Amsterdam, Papua New Guinea.
