Centropyxis trigonostoma Bartos, 1963
Diagnosis: Shell circular in shape, viewed from above very reminiscent of the genus Cyclopyxis, but the shell opening is always slightly shifted to one side. The fact that the species belongs to the genus Centropyxis is particularly clear from the side. The lower part, i.e. the front part of the shell, only reaches a height of 28-30 µm, while in the rear part of the shell, where it is highest, it reaches a height of 56-60 µm. The shell is slightly yellowish brown in color due to a large amount of the cement used to stick the building material together. The shell consists of coarser mineral pieces, which are particularly large on the top and rear end of the shell. There is a large circular depression around the shell opening, which is covered with finer material and at the deepest point there is a triangular shell opening with rounded corners. The edges of the shell opening are provided with bulging, strongly thickened organic, brownish colored lip. The shell opening is directed with one of its corners forward and one side backward.
Dimensions: Diameter of the shell 125 µm, diameter of the middle shell undersurface depression about 50 µm. Sides of the aperture about 40 µm long each, round corner 42 µm from the front edge of the shell, opposite side of the aperture 50 µm from the rear edge of the shell.
Habitat: Mosses.
Geographical distribution: Java, Indonesia.
