Centropyxis circularis, after Decloitre, 1968

Centropyxis circularis  (Wallich, 1864) Decloitre, 1968

Diagnosis: In dorsal view, the shell is circular, in lateral view it is very compressed. The pseudostome, also circular, is close to the anterior edge of the shell, the anterior edge of the pseudostome is not clearly defined. The shell is covered with medium-sized, dark mineral xenosomes, but it is not completely covered.

Dimensions: Decloitre, 1968: Length 80-95 µm; height 24-30 µm; diameter pseudostome 30-36 µm, buccal depth 9-10 µm; distance pseudostome-anterior border 10 µm. My measurements, Bhutan: Length 91-103 µm; height 24-30 µm

Ecology: Freshwater.
