
Plagiopyxis labiata
Genus Plagiopyxis Penard, 1910
Diagnosis: Shell in ventral view circular or broad oval, in lateral view more or less hemispherical with a flat ventral face; dorsal apertural lip somewhat incurved usually hiding the aperture; aperture a subterminal, elongated slit, perpendicular to long axis of the shell. Surface of shell covered with mineral particles.
Habitat. Almost all species live exclusively in soil or dry mosses (e.g. on trees). Most common species is Plagiopyxis declivis Bonnet & Thomas, 1955.
Remarks: Twenty-two known species.
