Plagiopyxis elongata
Plagiopyxis elongata, after Decloitre, 1974

Plagiopyxis elongata  Decloitre, 1974

Diagnosis: Shell elongated, pseudostome almost terminal and wide. Posterior edge of pseudostome enters the test up to a third of the dorsal wall, i.e. approximately 15 µm. The test is stony and almost colorless.

Dimensions: length 135-140 µm, width 75-80 µm, height 45-50 µm.

Ecology: Soil. France, Var.

Remarks: Decloitre (1976) distinguishes a variety minor, differing from the type by its dimensions:
Type: length 135 µm; width 75 µm; height 45 µm; L/l ratio = 1.8.
Variety: length 50 µm; width 29 µm; height 17 µm; L/l ratio = 1.7.
The ratios are almost the same, but the dimensions are reduced to 0.4 of those of the type.
